oast few days
have been allright. I've begun searching for jobs, and I'm slowly getting started with my reading of the Japanese language.
Also, finding a suit in Japan for people my size is impossible. Unless I get it tailormade, which I'm not gonna, as thats too expensive.
I'm feeling good :)
I also met a british girl called Gabrielle who lives lesss than 20 seconds from me, and she is here for as long as me. So yay! new friend!
She looks like Hermione Granger, which is hilarious.
will update again when something happens thats worthy of an update :)

settling down

Having already spent 5 days in Japan, I am finally beginning to accept that I am actually here, and I now enjoy being here. To begin with it annoyed me that I was alone, without job in a country where I didn't know the language or locations, didn't know how the trains worked, how the money should be spent and where to eat. And WHAT to eat for that matter. But now I have come to terms with the fact, that this is all part of travelling. This is what I want. This is what I need! The fact that I have to learn everything about a new country, from scratch basically, thrills and infuriates me at the same time, and it gives me a certain drive. I WANT to learn the language, with a 100% certainty, as I want to be able to navigate the trains, shop, ask for directions, strike up casual conversations with people with whom I deep down really want to talk to, but can't cause I'm unable to, and so on.
Travelling is awesome. Learning is awesome. Meeting countries and countryfolk that you know NOTHING about is awesome. As for the "being alone part", I'll manage. Tonight I'm going to a Sakurahouse party (sakurahouse is the "company" that have different guesthouses scattered around Japan, and I live in one of them), where I'm gonna talk to people and meet som cool people. I hope!
So yeah, I'm getting comfortable. I still don't know where to eat, or what for that matter, so for now, I'm sticking with homemade sandwiches for breakfast/lunch and spaghetti for dinner. :) As for sushi, apparently the GOOD places are hella expensive, so I'll wait with that until I have a job.
Speaking of, I've spent some of today and yesterday on searching and sending applications. I'll keep doing that until I get something. Can't take toooooo long. Hopefully. ;)
AS FOR ACTIVITIES! 2 days ago I met Erika Kobayashi, a very sweet and goodlooking japanese girl, I met in Denmark. I know that Lasper Strehman knows her, and so does he. We hung out in Ueno Zoo (I love zoo's!) with her friend Tetsushi, who's a cool dude, and my newest friend, and we had a very nice day. Tetsushi (or Teddy for short), lives here in Tokyo, and said that when he is not busy with studies/work, he will want to meet up and do stuff. He's a great guy, who spent 1 year in anmerica, and he is very good at english. Compared to the 2 Chinese people I live with......
ZOO!
Tetsushi
Erika Kobayashi!
Today I went to Ueno, which is the District I live closest to. It's also where the Zoo and one of the Biggest Parks is, which is also where I want to go when the Cherry Blossom Trees are in bloom. I just strolled trough the streets, and windowshopped. I went looking for a suit as well, as I will need one for when I eventually have to go to a job-interview. To that I can only say CURSE MY SIZE! It's hard to find suits that suit me (I could go tailormade, buts thats shitfuck expensive.)
Luckily one of the stores could writeme an adress for a tailor that sold Big Size suits. Gonna go there tomorrow. :)
I've uploaded a video to Youtube of the Ueno-district, but it doesn't really show what it is like there, with all the hundres of tiny shops, and the fish-market, and various other boutiques. When I find a job, I will probably invest in a proper camera, so I can show what Japan is like in HD !
until next time.
Peaaaaaace niggers!

Finally
I have gotten myself a laptop, and relatively cheap at that! 48000 yen, which is just a few hundred short of 3000 kroner. It's good, and nice, and it's mostly in japanese, but it's not a problem, since I could find my way around a computer in basically any language by now.
SO, timeformy first proper update.
Japann. Where to start.
I've noticed a lot of things about this place already, some things that really stand out.
First, there's the women. Everyone seems to wear short skirts and knee-long boots, even here in winter. I don't mind though, as that is a VERY nice combination.
Japanese people have 2 settings. Busy "oh god I have to hurry to X so I can do Y" mode, or patient"I'll just hang out here for a few hours and wait for Z " mode. They really dont seem to have a gear inbetween chilling out with their mobilephones and running amok with their mobilephones (and suits).
EVERYONE has got a mobilephone.
Old people read cartoons on the train.
Business-people read cartoons on the train.
Hardware stores, EVERYwhere.
Guys have the craziest hairdos.
There is a lot of other things, of course, but I've only really been here for a day, so I haven't noticed everything yet.
Speaking of having only been here for one day - today I went to a place called Akihabara, which is the place to go for electronics. It's where I bought my laptop as well. When I got the place recommended, I thought it was jsut the name of a building in which you could buy everything. But little did I know, that it was an entire district,
dedicated solely to hardware and software and electronics in general. Imagine Kongens Lyngby, (you foreigners, imagine a small town instead, I dont care which one), only, instead of normal shops with clothes and shoes, all there is is small shops with wires, or cameras, or entire shops dedicated to selling SD cards and USB's. Sounds and music everywhere. 7-story arcades with horrible J-pop blaring out into the streets. Nintendoperipherals ALL over the place. iPods! Which are only about 500 kroner here btw. For a 64gig iPod Touch. I kid you not. !
So that is where I went and got me a cheap nice Japanese laptop. Spent a few hours there, and then went back to my room and installed and, now I'm writing this blog! enjoy attached videos
and pictures :)

Dual-screen laptop! Friggin awesome. The two screens would merge into a single screen by simply pushing them together. Japanese goodness!

Tiny laptop!

Toilet-control-panel. If your butt is just too damn cold to poop, we now have the Heated Toilet Seat. Does YOUR behind also get dirty when going to the toilet? FEAR NOT! For the Toilet-Sidepanel is here! Will rinse and clean with just the press of a button. First time users may find this slightly unnerving.

smooth
When it comes to travelling, I must be born under a lucky star. Going to Japan including 24 hours of travelling time at least, having to switch trains 2 times, one of them in China ought to have some complications, but I didnt have any whatsoever.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing fine, and that I have just checked in at my guesthouse. This comnputer is just for borrow, so I wont be able to upload any videos or pictures just yet. I am going to go buy a lappy today though, so I should be able to update regularly soon.
peace

that's it
Denmark, I won't miss you, you cold, dead, heartless bastard. When I see you again, everything will be green and beautiful and alive again.
Friends, I'll see you again, when you have regained your color, are beautiful and alive again as well.
Just kidding of course, everyone knows that I only hang out with good-looking and lively people, all year long :)
I love you all! Take care while I'm gone. I'm leaving at 10:10 this morning, and will return, if all goes according to plan, on the 26th of June (how odd, that's the day before Roskilde Festival?! Surely, that can't be a coincidence...)
Love

so
I'm ready.. tomorrow morning i'll leave, and 36 (!!!) hours later, timezones included, I'll be in tokyo. I do not have a laptop, as I plan to buy one in Japan, so it will be a while before I will have an opportunity to update this blog, or upload pictures or contact anyone. Of course I can, and probably will, go to a computer café, but I'm gonna try and hold out until I get a laptop of some sort.
Wish me a pleasant trip. DO IT!

Less than 2 weeks
so, the time of departure is slowly creeping up on me, and I'm, to my own surprise, not nervous. I have my Working Holiday Visa, my new passport, my money, my sanity and my horse Zebes, so I'm sure nothing can go wrong.
I want to make a list of 5-10 things I have to do in Japan. Any suggestions from my 5 awesome followers, would be more than welcome.
On of the things on the list is - I have to try Fugu-fish, just because it's awesomely dangerous, and only very few cooks can cook it, without the consumer DYING! Excitement all around.
I need to teach a Japanese Hot Girl (tm) how to talk dirty in Danish!
I must buy a Pikachu.
well. I'll make up some stuff. It's like an achievement list for Japan. It's gonna rock!
Smell ya later
